My Vacation Must-Haves

I love to travel! I love new places, I love airports, I love warm weather & I love just getting away from my routine. Sharing some of my favorite summertime travel essentials & things that I always try to carry-on a flight. Here’s what’s in my travel bags…

In my carry-on bag…

  1. A single cleaning wipe. I like to pack a Clorox type wipe in a plastic baggy to use to wipe down my seat and the tray table. There are so many germs on the plane, so I like to start the flight fresh.

  2. Hand sanitizer. Right now I have the Mrs. Meyers spray that fits perfectly in my bag. I also really like the Young Living Thieves hand sanitizer in a gel.

  3. Water bottle. The first thing I do when I get to the airport is buy a water bottle and I try to finish it before we land. My skin gets so dry if I don’t drink enough water in the air!

In my travel makeup bag…

  1. Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30. The perfect lightweight tinted moisturizer that has a cooling feeling when you put it on. It has just enough coverage for redness, but gives the perfect, dewy glow. Rated “clean” as a 3 on the Think Dirty scale!

  2. Setting spray or powder with Sunscreen. Last year I discovered a setting spray that had sunscreen in it so you can re-apply without messing up your makeup! I later realized that some of the ingredients weren’t as clean as I’d like, so this year I’m on the hunt for something new. I’ll probably pick up something like this sunscreen setting powder, made with zinc oxide!

In my toiletry bag…

  1. Makeup wipes. I hate taking off my makeup, but I REALLY hate taking off makeup while I’m on vacation. So makeup wipes to the rescue. The Simple brand is my favorite because they’re fragrance & dye free, so they don’t irritate my skin.

  2. Travel Size Micellar Water. After a makeup wipe to get the initial makeup off, I dampen a cotton round with micellar water to pull out any remaining makeup. At home I try to avoid the excess waste of wipes & cotton rounds, but there’s no denying it’s easier than bringing along multiple washcloths and finding a travel size face wash.

  3. My own shampoo/conditioner/body wash. It’s tempting to just grab a few travel size products to avoid the hassle of TSA standards, but here’s why I don’t. First, most of the travel size products are full of dirty ingredients that you’ll be tempted to use not just once, but until it runs out. Second, it’s much for cost effective to buy the reusable bottles and fill it with products you already use and trust. This way, you can just fill it up and use it over and over. I love my shampoo & conditioner from Innersense Organics.

In my beach bag…

  1. Mineral sunscreen. I know I’ve shared about the dangers of sunscreen before, but it’s so important! Mineral sunscreen made from zinc oxide reflects the sun’s rays to prevent sunburn. I love Pacifica’s body butter sunscreen in the pineapple scent!

  2. Mineral sunscreen stick. The compact sunscreen stick is meant for faces. You just twist the tube like you would deodorant and can rub the stick on your face—but be sure to rub it in or you’ll have that classic, splotchy sunscreen face!

  3. Aloe Vera. Not the green gel you’re thinking of, but true aloe that is natural and soothing. Perfect for burns.

  4. Shimmer spray. Ok this one is new for me, but how pretty will this glow be on a beach day? Total mermaid vibes!

So there ya go—a few of my favorites as I head out on vacation or a sunny weekend getaway this year! Do you have any clean products that aren’t on my list? Let me know & I’ll check them out!
